Reality Check Wednesday #3

My reality check this week came in the form of new eyes. Good, clear physical and spiritual eyes from now on. Click through to read my experience.

My reality check this week came in the form of new eyes.

Eyes.

Yes, you heard me. I got brand new ones!!

Corneas to be exact. And they are amazing.

I never expected to be able to see without the help of contacts or glasses again for the rest of my life.

But here I am plunking away at a keyboard and I have 20/15 vision. What!? LASIK is wild, y'all. Technology just amazes me sometimes.

While I am super thankful to my husband for paying for it (eek!) and taking off from work for the procedure. And to my mom for watching my sweet kids for a few hours. I'm especially thankful to God for giving me new eyes.

You see, at the beginning of the year He gave me a word for the year. And you won't guess what it was.....EYES. Yes! And while He's shown me many scriptures since then on Him watching over me and my family with His eyes, I truly believe my surgery was the physical act of me being given new spiritual eyes.

I was praying all morning before the surgery that when all was said and done, I would see people differently. Not just clearer (haha!), but I would see them with love and compassion. The way He sees them.

This is my last picture (maybe ever!) with glasses. No more fumbling around in the dark for my glasses at night. No more uncomfortable contact lenses that reshaped and scratched my eyes.

Good, clear physical and spiritual eyes from now on....
