Up with the chickens....

....actually I'm up before the chickens. My body won't let me sleep past 5:30am, even if I didn't go to bed until midnight the night before. This fact starts to annoy me and then I get downstairs, coffee in hand, in God's Word before there is even the slightest peep out of my precious family. And I'm thankful, not annoyed anymore. I love the stillness of my house in the early morning hours. I'm not alone for long.....my 10 month old screams to be fed and talked to, my husband is off to work by 6:30 and my 4 year old wakes up begging to play Candy Land with me before I even get a "hello" or "good morning" from her. And our day is off..... there are animals to feed, scraps to throw out, dishes and clothes to wash, floors to sweep, games to play, meals to cook, errands to run. We are blessed! Sometimes I start thinking with "the grass is greener" mentality (I had one of those days yesterday) and the Lord so graciously reminds me how good this life is. He's so good like that. I could go on and on but just thought I would share with you today some of the reasons I feel so blessed. I remember a friend once said, "How else would we know something is beautiful unless God showed us how to recognize beauty?" These pictures depict the things God has shown me to be most beautiful about this country life we love so much....
